Julia Powers is a translator based in New York. She was born and raised in Lolo, Montana. In 2006, she earned her B.A. in English Literature from Amherst College, where she also studied French and Spanish. After graduating, she worked as an editor for The Hudson Review. She has lived in Buenos Aires and Rome, and more recently Salvador, Brazil, where she translated poetry and fiction with the support of a Fulbright research grant. In the fall of 2012, she will begin a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Yale University to study translation theory and contemporary literature, especially by women, in Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian.


Adam Morris is a writer and translator. He holds a degree in English Literature from Swarthmore College and is a PhD candidate in the department of Iberian & Latin American Cultures at Stanford University, where he studies 20th- and 21st century Latin American literature. His criticism has appeared or is forthcoming in CR: The New Centennial Review, The Luso-Brazilian Review, parallax, Zyzzyva, and Public Books. A native of Pennsylvania, Adam now resides in San Francisco.
